| This
July Cabin Creek Timber Frames traveled to
Nashville, Tennessee to raise two compound
joinery timber frames we had designed, cut,
and trial fitted in our beamery here in
Franklin, North Carolina. I have included in
this photo array a few of the 3-D CAD Works
drawings that were generated for this
project. The general contractor on this
project is Ramsey-Daugherty of Nashville,
Tennessee. The architect is Daniel Lee of
Daniel Lee Architectural, AIA located in
Alexandria, Virginia . |

Here
are two of the 3-D CAD Work images that were
generated for this project. All the compound
joinery timber frame structures on this
project as well as all the tongue and groove
were White Oak. White Oak is a very dense
hard wood.
White Oak also has a
tendency to check. This checking of the
white oak will allow the timber frame to
look older by far than it actually is. Once
a Danish oil finish has been applied it will
have a furniture like appearance. |
