It has been a busy spring here at Cabin Creek Timber Frames. Kevin Lanier, our in-house designer and Tracy Bailey in sales has been working closely with Paul owner of Wood Design of company to perfect the design of his timber frame trusses for his home in Rogers, Arkansas. While none of the three have met in person, using email and various design programs they have been able to work closely to bring his project to completion. His very custom timber frame truss system was raised this January.

Art and Stephanie chose Cabin Creek Timber Frames to design and cut their timber frame dream retirement home. Their eastern white pine timber frame has been cut and trial fitted here in our beamery at 6624 Georgia Rd., Franklin, NC. Their custom timber frame home was adapted from one of Cabin Creek Timber Frames standard designs, the Cullasaja. There timber frame home is going up in the Clarks Chapel Cove Community of Franklin, NC. We hope the site is ready for us to raise their custom timber frame home this March, 2006.

Macon County, North Carolina gets new library this year.

Pictured below is one of the three tractor trailer loads of wood that will be used in the construction of the timber frame center core of the new Macon County Library which is scheduled to be raised the second week in April on Siler Rd., Franklin, NC. The new library will be located next to the new South Western Community College.

Below are the 8in. X 12in. and 8in. X 14in. Douglas Fir timbers that will be used as roof purlins for the timber frame center core of the new library. John Booker is marking the timbers prior to their being double checked for accuracy by another timber framer prior to their being cut.
